An abundance of pears and yellow apples on this wine that has a Calvados feeling to it. There are also ripe pineapples and a very soft acidity. The wine manages to stay fresh, but I would have hoped for some more energy.

(Stony Hill Chardonnay) Group's #3 (my #3) – 66 pts; 0, 4, 3, 0 - dark golden amber color; minerally, dam earth, lanolin and some VA nose, that turns increasingly sherried with time; medium bodied, still lively, nutty, tangy butter palate with good acidity; medium finish

At Caffe Macaroni with Macaroni lunch group. 34 years on and still an excellent Chardonnay.
