I don’t have a ton of experience with Stony Hill Chardonnay, so not sure what to expect, but this was delicious in just about every way possible. Saline, fruity, slightly spicy, rich yet vibrant, and very long, it hit pretty much every note I could want. There’s plenty of freshness and depth for several more years of age, so my other bottle may sit a while just to see what happens with significant time. Glad to have a small stash of Stony Hill.

A bit young (for a SH), but still showing well. Color surprisingly darker than I expected, though still only a medium yellow. No real legs in evidence. Light citrus/lemon, with a hint of cream. Excellent palate, with good fruit and full impression of fruit in the mouth. Has an excellent fruit/acid balance, and a nice long finish. 4-11-16-8: 89/100.

Perfect White Burgundy style Napa Chardonnay from an exceptional vintage. White wine doesn’t get much better than this. Sad to see that Stony Hill has now changed owners twice from original founders. Unfortunately, the big business owners have raised the price so high that the overall value (quality + price) is greatly diminished.

Napa, Spring Mountain District, 2016 Stony Hill Chardonnay ($54 in 2018). Similar to previous notes. Mid yellow gold; stone fruit, citrus, vanilla, light honey nose; medium-plus acids; medium body, alcohol (13.0); good Chardonnay fruit on the palate; stone fruit; long balanced deep finish. w/halibut. 17 UC Davis scale, 92 other scales.

Another brilliant bottle. Well integrated, balanced in perfect condition. Is it worth 100$? But I love it
