Drunk at a rare Australian wine dinner on Australia Day at Table in Hong Kong - Extremely clean and crisp, clearly an excellent bottle with an 'in to neck' fill. Paired with an excellent bottle of '82 John Riddoch and whilst the 707 took the honours it was by no means a unanimous decision.

Good color, minimal bricking, as a result of which I was a bit surprised that the wine did not show better. It struck me as past maturity, though what fruit there was, was enjoyable. Little in the way of a finish. Perhaps storage was an issue in its past. I guess for a 33 year old wine it was impressive, but on an absolute basis I wish I had opened it 15-20 years back.

Needs time to open up, but reminds me very much of a mature bordeaux, or perhaps an aged Sassicaia(!) At this stage very elegant, but there is still fruit, great balance and acidity. Good backbone as well, a gem!

One of the greatest wines of my life...7+ nose throughout a 2 hr decant...and the fruit is sensational...if i don't like giving a 100 score it would have got it!

See my tasting notes 10 yrs ago. Magnificent fruit persists. This is the greatest Australian wine I have ever had. Giddy up
