  深石榴红色，刚开瓶时闻香是奶油蛋糕，雪松，黑果，醋栗和草莓糖的香气，入口酸度高，酒液非常咸，单宁紧涩，如一层细沙铺满舌间，中等酒体，甘草，李子，酸果，奶油味明显，湿石头的矿物感，酸李子的余味和奶香作为收尾，酒体非常紧致，浑然一体，接近30年的酒，表现出来的新鲜感令人惊奇，没有一丝老态和酱味，需要充分醒酒。醒酒器两个半小时，酒的状态完全绽放开来，闻香是黑加仑，雪松，奶油，香草和巧克力，香气华丽诱人。入口依然是漂亮的酸度，结构感很棒，成熟的单宁，细粉状，果香异常鲜活，除了蓝莓一类黑果以外还有漂亮的草莓红果香，伴随着奶油味和矿物感，酒液丝滑，迷人的表现力。口感和香气非常的干净和纯粹，这是我最喜欢它的地方。今晚它的表现无疑是完美的。不是一个宏大叙事，深沉厚重的酒，但是它把它所有的一切都展现了。我不能说它已经完全进入适饮巅峰期，因为酒的状态真的还可以再放十年一点问题没有，我只能说喝到这样的表现已经圆满了，没有遗憾。

  Opaque.
  Aromas of cassis, blackberry jam, smoke, mint, crushed rock, leather and aniseed.
  Chewy rather juicy tannins. Black current acids and peach pit bitterness.
  Full body.
  Palate of cassis, blueberry jam, ripe cherry, licorice, Asian spices, baked earth and cured meat.
  Tasted 2023 along with Leoville barton 97. A mature, muscular, racy and wonderful wine with utterly ripe dark fruit, typical cabernet spices and long vibrant finish full of stony notes. The wine is more powerful, juicier and grander than the matched wine. Drink within 10-12 years.

  This was one of the stars of the tasting. Fascinating nose, almost intoxicating in it's richness and complexity. Full bodied mature profile with almost a sensation of a honeyed sweetness that I think came from the rich ripe fruit and maybe Penny's oak treatment. Could drink this all night. Deservedly high score given it topped exalted company.

  Paired against a 1983 Chateau Lynch Bages and consumed at the Botanic Gardens restaurant (Cheers SJR!) in Adelaide. Decanted and drunk with a 4 course degustation, 707 was v v good; but I agree with other notes, perhaps a bit tannic on first opening:ergo the LB was WOTN for mine.
  Like a lot of big Australian wines the 707 needs a long decant
  and this was evident as it started to get into its stride towards the end of the evening. 4-6 hours of air beforehand, would, I suspect, have made WOTN a much tougher call. The LB is drinking beautifully now - the 707 could easily go another 5 years. Colour was inky black, still.
