Drank this during a wine dinner at Phoenix Garden (Ngee Ann City). Theme of the Evening: Langton's Exceptional Cabernet Dinner. Wines were served two at a time for comparison and contrast.
The blockbuster for the evening. As the Penfolds Cabernet Sauvignon Grange equivalent, this wine lived up to its expectations and did not disappoint. Complex, layered with dimensions and everchanging, this wine ends with a long lingering finish. On the palate, this wine is smooth and bumps free. A truly well crafted and well made wine.
When compared to the 2008 Penfolds Cabernet Sauvignon Bin 407, this wine is so much more complex and enjoyable.

Pretty good. Decanted for 2.5 hours or so before drinking, this felt just in the cusp of being ready. It has a nicely approachable of cassis, earth and graphite flecked with just the tiniest hint of eucalyptus and spice. The palate was rich and supple. It still had a bit of a bite from bright acidity and firmish tannins, but the structure was clearly beginning to soften and round up, integrating nicely with moreish flavours of cassis and plums patted down with some earth, and then a subtle blush of green herb and spice at a decent finish. I thought it felt just a tad drying on the back palate. There was a bit of the eucalyptus in this that spoke to the wine’s antipodean origins, otherwise this was a nicely polished international styled Cabernet. I thought it lacked a bit of character, but otherwise a very sound, quite yummy drop. Drinkable now after a longish decant, but will be even better in 5-6 years.

poped and poured , reasonable amount of sediment but in hindsight needs about 2-4 hours to open up
colour deep red impenetrable crimson on the rim 15/15 nose intensity red and black fruits dominate , oak spice developing complexity 29/30 palate full bodied red and black flavours from the nise , drinking very young 41/44 overall I had this alongside the 407 and the 707 showed its class , beautiful wine 10/11

Special lunch party - best of Australia vs France (Ravensdale Farm): Clear WOTN unanimous amongst guests. Real X factor wine. Quite bold fruited but well framed. Mainly dark fruits but a tinge of red fruits. Just a beautiful tasting experience from beginning to end - superb balance. Lovely complexity with tobacco, leather and some warm spices. Very fresh still. The power was always held together by the structure leading to a compelling experience. Pretty much everyone went back to this bottle for there first refill.

Decanted waited 3.5h. With grilled meat. 18C
When opened the nose was filled with fruit.
Cola, cocus, charcoal and Classic NW cab. Good balance.
Would decant 1-2h next time, prefer below 18.
I preferred Riedel Cab glas, she bigger US Cali glas.
