  • An Evening at Bern's (Tampa): After a tough go of it with the 1919 Chateau Margaux and the 1910 Palmer, we decided to try another 1919 Margaux...the Cantenac Brown. Again, this was surprisingly fresh, but not quite as complex as the others on the nose. Earth, dark fruit, campfire and tar. Nice and bright on the palate with perfect balance. Round and sleek. This did not have the depth on the palate as the others and faded quite a bit in the 2 hours we had it open and became quite bitter. This would have been a remarkable experience on its own, but having the other wines open provided great context.
