So far I'm very impressed with most Bordeaux 2022 I have tasted, especially the wines from Margaux. They have kept their elegant signum but with more concentration.

Bordeaux 2022 barrel tasting event (Papiersaal Sihlcity, Zürich): Main takeaways: 1/ Despite a considerable amount of hype, this came across as bi-polar vintage with for every insanely good wine at least one dead-on-arrival counterpart. 2/ High alcohol levels, over-extraction and cooked fruit appear to be common pitfalls. 3/ Top wines were 1. Figeac (98), 2. Brane Cantenac (97), 3. Les Carmes Haut Brion (96). Full list of 20 wines and scores in included in the tasting story.
Tasting note: Ripe fruit with a bit of heat, but a prominent earthy base that helps to anchor the fruit with a nice additional feature of perfume. But things collapse when you move on to the palate where this felt more like a spirit than wine, overpowering everything else.

Slightly jellied plum fruit. Nice presence on the palate but the tannins here are a little coarse and the finish is short. This feels over-worked, as do many recent vintages of Cantenac Brown. I'd love to see what they could do if they approached the process with a more gentle touch.

Deeply colored, the wine shows off its violets, lilacs, licorice, black cherry, and currant character with a single swirl. On the palate, the wine is rich, lush, polished, creamy, and loaded with black, red and blue fruits. There is length, opulence, and layers of ripe, sweet, pit fruits that linger. The wine is a blend of 69% Cabernet Sauvignon and 31% Merlot. 13.8% ABV, 3.64 pH. Yields were 30 hectoliters per hectare. The Grand Vin was produced using only 52% of the harvest. Picking took place September 7 - September 27. Drink from 2027-2055. 94-96 Pts.

Bordeaux 2022 barrel samples and some additional vintages (Solliden in Stockhom): I liked it but this Margaux tasted tighter and younger than many others. Good acidity.

Bordeaux 2022 en Primeur and some recent vintages: Quite a bit better in than the 2010 next to it. Both the fruit and the tannins had a better balance.
