The Verticals Tasting at 2023 La Paulée (Eventi Hotel, New York): Ruby with fading. Warm spice and fruit on the nose. The most soil of all 3 wines. Subtle red fruit, excellent acidity, only barely obvious wood, moderately long but tight finish. Good now, much less overdone than the other 2 wines, and the only one that remotely reminds me of Gevrey.

2022 Excellent Burgundy Adventure; 10/31/2022-11/6/2022 (Burgundy): Medium expressive nose displaying concentrated black fruit with a hint of red, blackberry, black cherry, strawberry jam, cinnamon, dark spices, tree bark and earth. There is a hint of green which is bothersome. Very good concentration, packed concentrated black fruit, deeply toned, medium acidity, earthy mineral, and a medium long ripe concentrated black fruit driven finish with cinnamon at the end. The green note is always present. The overall impression is a bit “chunky”. Perhaps needs time.

In a trio of 2013 Lavaux St Jacques blind tasting (Claude Dugat, Dugat PY and Denis Mortet), the Denis Mortet has the best weight and length with a whiff of stylish oak. The core fruit has good precision. While it has entered its drinking window, it should benefit more for cellaring. 90-91

Fruit is precise and rich with nice acidity. Youthful but drinking well, should be even better in a few years.
