Community Tasting Notes (6) Avg Score: 88 points

  • D+0h: a tiny bit of deposit in the filter, a tiny bit of deposit spray in the bottle, smells of raspberry D+3h: purple red colour, on the rim slightly cherry red, smells intensively of raspberry and a little bit of acid drops, quite dry, medium body, in the mouth an aggressive raspberry, cherry and acidity, in the aftertaste raspberry and acidity, good length (30 sec), I think this has a wine fault (volatile acidity).

  • Second bottle this year (see previous detailed tasting note from Feb 2022).
This bottle felt more mature, i.e. more rubber notes. Could also have been due to the shorter decant (2h instead of 4h). Nevertheless, great QPR!

  • From 85% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc, 5% Cabernet Sauvignon.
12 months maturation in small oak barriques (50% new).

    4h decant.

Dark red-purple colour. Old school BDX palate with plums, licorice, soft tannins, oak, and spices. The finish has light rubbery notes, which imo inidcates mature BDX wines.

Should drink well another 2-5 years easily. Great QPR as well (12€ on sale at Metro this year).

    Suckling: 91p

  • Color: Ruby. You can just see through the wine. Nose: Red fruit. There is something else that is leaning more towards oranges. A hint of cardamon. Mouth: Tannins have a good grip but are not perfectly round. A slight bitterness that goes well with food. A bit rustic and wishy-washy. The 14% alc. can be felt a tad too much. After one day of letting the half full bottle breathe in the fridge the wine has improved hence 1 point up (before 85). Now there is also a slight aroma of burnt soil.

  • Round, fat, sweet, ripe, dark, juicy fruits, licorice, espresso and wet earth all wrapped up in an open, easy to drink, open style. Not overtly complex, but there is loads of well-priced, early drinking pleasure here.
