  • December, a good month for a frenchie drinking, no matter the region. Last bottle of a cage of six bought in France ten years ago. Opened a couple of hours before lunch because of the entanglement and see if it develops some complexity. Cork extracted in two times. Deep ruby colour with watery edges.
Aromas of coal ore, wet earth and fruit in the form of ripe blackberries. Also a vegetable and nibbled pencil notes. Recognizable that predominant CS grape. On the palate it is still slightly tannic and rough, with a more diluted texture and an acidity that slides down the throat. Monotonous and by definition, boring. A 16 years old bottle with where the initial power dissipates but the modern style remains.

  • This is a "wish I had more" wine. Beautiful nose of casis and forest floor. Still plenty of fruit and good tannic structure. Developing lots of tertiary notes, but still tastes relatively young. Not at its peak yet! I have one more bottle of this and will be saving it for a few years.
