Popped and poured from a .375. My experience with aged BDX is minimal, but that one was singing. Poured a beautiful garnet color, with some bricking around the rim. The nose is relatively muted, but what I could best describe as the smell of a wonderful old book, though not in a bad way. The palate was far more open, with hints of raspberries/strawberries, some cherry, finishing with a hint of pipe tobacco. Very well balanced, with a touch of pleasing acidity on the backend. I really enjoyed this and wish I had more.

I thought it would’ve been over the hill, but it was very good; seemed musky first, but opened up nicely, with strong tertiary flavors, decent fruit and nice finish.

The nose showed dark floral and earth tones with brown spices and a mix of crushed cherry, cranberry and currants. On the palate, I found silky textures with zesty acidity giving way to tart red fruits, minerals and brown spice. The finish was long, almost meaty and chewy with hints of tannin and lingering notes of blackberry.

Mature in color, with smoky, tobacco and cigar box profile and scorched cherry finish, as this tastes much older than its true age, this requires consumption over the next few years.
