Dark red, almost opaque, slightly vegetal and woodsy, cedar-y and tobacco-y nose, yet still fresh. Medium-bodied, a hint of astringency on the finish that balances quite nicely with the woodsy notes. I was worried that this was too “mature” but fortunately nothing a bite of brebis couldn’t handle!

This seems to be the wine with the greatest dependence on my mood of the day. My ratings ranged between this and 93, I think. It was my last bottle, yeah !

I can't stress enough that this is a food wine in the strictest possible sense and that the rating is completely contingent on assuming that it is almost exclusively applied that way. Day 1 had me wanting to rate this as 86 or something since my dislike of it grew over the years. However, that was influenced by me wanting to enjoy half a glass independent of food later, but the overbearing acidity and extreme veggie notes makes this very unenjoyable to me. So not only do you need food with this, it should also be food a bit on the heavier side that really needs some obstinate counterforce to digest it. Under these conditions, this wine, which apparently assumes rather rustic Spanish tapas consuming habits, really shines, and the rating is to be seen this way. Very herbal, almost saline and sour, good !

This time it was day one which made me want to rate this at 94 from where it descended to a 90. One bottle to go, scheduled for 2023.
