Gorgeous lifted, full aromatics - black fruit, black pepper, savory notes, herbs. Polished medium-to-full mature fruit on the palate. Layers of flavor add complexity. Shows quite fresh with energy/pop as the acidity is working in harmony with the fruit. Seems to have the structure to last for decades.
Classic Cote Rotie showing black pepper, dark earthy black cherry fruits. A sleek wine with wonderful balance between fruit, acidty, and tannins. Layered and sophisticated, very detailed wine slowly exposing fine layers with each sip. Long finish. Just entering its drinking window. A good early decant would have problably brought out more earlier. Quite elegant.
Nice light ruby color, no signs of age. But definitely light, nothing new world. Nice plum and cranberry on the nose with some floral perfume. Palate brings some gaminess with flowing fruit. Really lingers. I loved this, better than I remembered.
Drank for the second time within 48 hours, though 13.000 kilometers apart... How lucky can a wine-lover be? Consistent with my tasting note below. Based on that experience, I opened the bottle 8 hours on advance and double decanted 4 hours before drinking. Utterly pleasant drinking. Sexy sister of the accompanying of the virile La Landonne 1998.
