This was brought by another dinner guest and trounced my bottle of Torbreck Factor (see notes). Apparently was decanted for around 3 hours. Large pale rim. Big on the pepper with delicate, ethereal, floral nose. Lots of fruit of course but the tertiaries have dominated. Woo hoo!
The wine took about 60 minutes to fully open. Nonetheless smooth and elegant from the start. Ruby color. A little bricking at the rim. About 1/3 teaspoon of sediment decanted out. Wonderful red fruits, tobacco, dried herbs, some spice and sweet Oak. Beautifully layered with a 30 second finish. Not the greatest of vintages, but a truly great wine nonetheless.
