A small comparison of Guigal La Turque 2010 and 2015. Dark cherry fruit, fresher in style than 2010, but consistent gingerbread and spice aromas. Peppery notes and black chocolate. A densely packed, high octane palate with sandy tannin. None of the wines were decanted and right out of the gate the 2010 had a better start, was more accessible. But the 2015 caught up with time and probably and came in on a par. That said, my preference from a hedonistic perspective would be on the fresher 2015.

My 2nd fav of the La La's tonight; Dark purple, concentrated blackberry and blueberry juice, subtle clay-earthy element, very good acidty and tannins, but the most primary and youthful of the 3, not even close to ready.Cotsens blind night

I have been really wanting to try this. Opened for 3 hours. Color is very deep garnet/purple. On the nose: Violets, Lavender, cassis, pepper, iron/blood and vanilla. On the palate:Kirsch, Cassis, violets, pepper, licorice and beef boullion. This is too young but fantastic. Really needs at least 5 more years and then I am guessing it may reach 3 figures in score. It’s all there. It’s deep and broad in flavors. It’s elegant in mouthfeel. It’s made to enjoy with food. One of the best noses I’ve experienced in a while.

Deep purple color. Deep nose of stewed red and black fruits, soft herbs, espresso, grilled bacon. Dry, rounded acidity, integrated tannins, medium deep taste of ripe blackcurrant, hint of oak and coffee bean. Medium full body. Good balance. Medium long finish. (L’Hospice is better value though).
