  • So much gorgeous flavour concentration with black fruits, black pepper, violet, and smoke. There are some nice emerging tertiary notes of forest floor and leather. Its high alcohol is well integrated and barely perceptible, except on the finish, where it warms rather than burns. It leaves a slick of deep ruby in the glass.

  • Deep ruby. Med+ intensity. Ripe black fruit. Cherry, plum, black pepper, liquorice, black olive. Charred wood, clove, cedar. Meat, prune. Med+ acidity and tannins which are ripe chalky and fine. High alcohol. On the palate is more secondary and tertiary. Good concentration. Med+ finish.
    The wine is very good.
Complexity from primary, secondary and tertiary. Tannins are balanced with acidity and fruit concentration. Alcohol is well integrated, lacking a bit of intensity.
Can develop further due to the levels of tannin and concentration.

  • Better known for his Condrieus. Very restrained for a solar vintage. Classic savoury northern Rhône. This has impressive structure but is overshadowed by the oak at the moment even though the winemaking is traditionalist.

  • Not in a good place right now. Tannic and monolithic; hopefully that will pass, but at this moment the wine shows many of the flaws that I think others have overlooked in this vintage.

  • Opaque with blue-purple brim. Rich, fruity nose with notes of bramble, dark plums, dark cherries and a handful of dusty gravel. Mouthfeel is rich, full bodied, fruity with oak character, tightly wound tannins and notes of bramble, some stony minerality, dark cherries and a touch of black currant. Very young but with great concentration, drinkable now, but will become a truly great wine over the next decade.
