Perhaps drunk too young or not given enough time to breathe? The end of the bottle was definitely better than the first half. Initially somewhat muted, this gradually showed lemon meringue and sweet lemon creaminess (and full bodied) the longer it was open.

Guy's Night: Variety Pack (Rocknroller's (Kevin & Vicki's Place)): Light medium gold color. Followed a glass for 2 hours. Full bodied, tart, lemon, lychee, lots of oak, bitters, alcohol, white melon. This seemed quite different from a bottle in late December, so score reserved.

WOW! This is in a beautiful place right now, and I suspect will be here for a while (at least another year). I don't see it getting better, but also don't foresee a decline n he short term. Nose showed some citrus and tropical fruit with a hint of banana, along with some white flower and a touch of petrol. The palate starts with some well rounded poached pear and butter sauce notes, then evolves into a kaleidoscope of flavors, including pear, Gala apples, some tropical fruit and some rich, creamed Meyers Lemon pie with a t ouch of chalk and baking spice. This reminds me of an aged, well rounded Burgundy. One of the best Chardonnays I have had recently....figures, was about to drop Kistler because I have enough, but now I will get a few bottles and hope I am around when they get to this age! 95-96...and what a treat!

Guys night - course meal (Kevin and Vicki's house): What ROCKNROLLER said, lots of oak, alcohol, slightly bitter. I thought Kistlier had dialed back the oak?

Annual Tasting Group Holiday Party (St. Genevieve, Mpls, MN): Had a small pour at the holiday party. Lemon and more citrus notes, lemon curd, full bodied, crystalline, vanilla panna cotta, excellent. In a nice spot. 94+ to 95pts.
