PNP. Very deep magenta color. Wild strawberry, apple peel, cassis, and moist potting soil on the classic youthful, Bordeaux nose. Smooth, dry palate, with good acidity. Full, taut tannins on the longish finish.
Had this at a business dinner and was surprised at the level of openness with no decant. Even so, really needs a 2-4 hour decant and probably at least one more year to really be in it’s drinking window.
Day one and this is bit of a brooding beast. Nose relatively closed (faint hint of tobacco), followed by super ripe dark, sweet fruits and powerful, chunky tannins. Full bodied, oaky and deeply concentrated. Somewhat vegetal - needs time ++. Day 2 and (disappointingly) not a lot of evolution. Overall, the super intense ripe fruit, coupled with the deep tannic structure just didn't meld together well for me.
