Lovely wine, my 3rd of 6 bottles. Was tasted alongside 2 Jadot 1er Cru White Burg's, for context. So paled in that comparison, based on power and flavor intensity...but that's the point of this pretty Muscadet.

Blind tasting Pale lemon with gold reflections and bubbles on the glass Aromatics medium. Cream, pear and citrus. Later some flinty minerality. No new oak Palate has a medium body with a rounded lees contact mouthfeel. Acid medium +. Alcohol medium. No phenolics. Citrus, mainly lemon with nice minerality Dry glass notes of cream Finish has a medium length. Balanced I guessed a 2020 Albarino given the citrus/salinity on the palate, but this wine has the muted aromatics and mouthfeel more in keeping with Muscadet. Nice wine Drink now or hold

Pale lemon color Medium intensity aromas of lemon zest/ cream with intense salinity and dry chalky minerality on the nose Medium bodied with palate of cream and lemon again with intense dry rocks at the tail end Medium plus acidity with medium alcohol and minimal phenolics Moderate length led by the intense minerality Drinking well now but will prob improve over the next 5-7 yrs This has really developed well since I last tasted it 3-4 yrs ago

This wine has notably evolved since its early days. Its transformation over the past few years is evident, with its more subdued character compared to previous tastings, dating back about two years. In the glass, the wine boasts a medium gold hue, hinting at its maturity. The nose still feels quite youthful with a medley of pronounced minerality, reminiscent of wet stones, paired with an invigorating whiff of seaspray, and complemented with stone fruits. When drinking this wine, I get a feeling of a serene walk on a rain-soaked day, if that makes sense. The palate echoes the nose. The minerality and stone fruit nuances continue, with a backdrop of medium-plus acidity that keeps the experience lively. Medium-plus finish. The 2016 Domaine de la Pépière Clos des Briords is a wine that has gracefully evolved, revealing layers and depths that I feel weren't as apparent in its youth.

Evolved a bit in the past 2 years. Still cracking acid, fresh squeezed lemon, lemon pledge and seaspray. A boatload of minerals, but with more umami and tea-like notes.
