Dense and aromatic, dark and red fruit, oak spices, tannins better than I remember them from this producer in older vintages. Very young still but this could add a point once mature. Best after 2026.

At Forslundska with DVI 1) Chambolle-Musigny Village Dujac 2018 2) Vosne Romanee 1er cru Clos Reas Michel Gros 2015 3) Volnay 1er cru 60 Ouvrees, Pousse d'Or 2016 4) Gevrey Chambertin 1er cru Poissenot Domaine Humbert 2012 5) Morey Saint Denis Grand Cru Clos de Tart 2016 6) Pommard 1er cru Clos Boucherottes Sordet 2005 7) Bourgogne Rouge Labore Roi 2021 (ref) 0) Nuits Saint Georges 1er Cru Hors Ligne Domaine de L'Arlot 2017 -1) Punt Road Australien 2021
The reference wine was important in that it showed the crowd how an uncomplicated PN from Burgundy behaves. The Punt Road also contributed by being fruit forward and slightly warmer than the rest. New world in a nice way.
This Volnay did not behave as a Volley which has been noted before. In fact had more of the earthy and darker fruited character of Pommard. Lovely wine. My WOTN. Depth is there, yet silky, reasonably long. I associated it with the profile of a Vougeot. Decanted 1 h before.

Aroma: restrained aromas of leather wood smoke and plums. Perhaps a floral note. Palate: rich and complex with nicely balanced cherry, plum and savory meat flavors. A rather creamy texture. Hints of minerals on the finish. Nicely integrated tannin and acidity. Very good.
