  In a delightful place right now and a great upside surprise compared to previous bottles. Pnp'd and drunk over two-three hours. Mature Bordeaux nose of old books and bandaids with baked fruit and lightly roasted coffee beans.

  Finally has that good old Bordeaux smell: specifically, old wet wool and used coffee grounds with stewed black cherry compote. Color purple with brown edges. Acidity and tannins decent. It's very drinkable--not over the hill but heading there.

  Past peak. Black fruit, tobacco, lots of cocoa, lower than desired acidity, soft tannins with a somewhat chalky texture--made me want to run it through a paper coffee filter.
