  • Cassis and tobacco with some sweet spice. Mid-weight and beautifully balanced. Fresh and minty closure.

  • WSET 3 - session 7 (Utrecht): Deep garnet, medium intensity with eucalyptus, cassis, black currant, blackberry, tomato leaf, vanilla, leather, tobacco. The wine is dry, medium+ acidity, high tannins, high alcohol, full body, medium+ flavor intensity and long finish

  • Deep ruby red colour. Medium (+) and developing nose with cassis, blackcurrant, green bell pepper, cedar and smoke. Pronounced taste of cassis, blackcurrant, green bell pepper, cedar and smoke. Long and dry finish. High acidity. High tannins. Full body. A very good Cabernet Sauvignon based red wine. Part of my WSET3 exam prep. Drink now or over the next couple of years. Goes well with beef or game.

  • This is yummy. Optimal drinking in 3-5 years time, still very fresh. Body full of plum, oak, fresh eucalytpus and an undercurrent of minerality that really brings out that swampy Coonawarra terroir. Not too disimilar to the Wynns Black Label range, perhaps mroe fruit driven here.

    91 with upside.

  • Right off the bottle, the nose of blackcurrant cassis, green bell pepper, ripe gooseberries and savoury herbs are intense and pure. Very easy to identify the individual flavours. After half an hour in the glass, the nose is deeper, with smoked cedar, clove, leather and licorice in the undertone. Complex first impression. Everything you smell in the nose is found on the palate and perhaps more. Rich, fresh and deep at the same time. The length stretches seamlessly from entry to the long finish. Rather rounded and huge structure defined the mid-palate with layers of flavours surrounding it. Still a young wine but tannins are very fine and the oak is completely integrated into the body. Overall a lively and bold Cabernet with more concentration and complexity than its peers like Wynns and Majella. A few more years in the bottle will achieve better harmony. It should drink beautifully for the next 5-10 years. A TOP end Coonawarra Cab.
