Strange experience (and what else would you expect from Burgundy!).
Really wish I would have let this decant longer and other CT notes would have made mention of decant time.
Decanted an hour before dinner. Back in the bottle and brought to Cyrus in Geyserville. The meal was fantastic....!
Decanted again at the restaurant. About an hour later got to it. Still super closed. Fuck. After about 4 hours it unfurled. Really nice. I'd say upon first opening, 89 points and super disappointing.
After 4 hours it came into what it was. Burgundy arrived. Told my wife felt like I was drinking air. That's a first! Definitely not worth the price of admission. Have had many a burg at a fraction of the price (Faively especially) which were equally delicious. At this price I won't be rebuying. Glad I finally had a Grivot Richebourg.
And so it goes.........

Richebourg themed' dinner. Popped, and left to stand in btl for ~1+hr before serving. This was immediately discernable as the youngest wine amongst all... but oh boy, was it gorgeous! The bouquet had a complex mix of wild spice, sandalwood and cherries (dark red/black) plus a dash of cherry-liqueur & some other floral components - this intermixing kept playing, with the spices sometimes at the fore, and at other times, the cherry notes. Incredibly sensual & elegant on the palate. Despite being a '17, this had amazing concentration & purity that drove a long finish. Already very good/delicious, but will get even better with cellar age! Majestic!

Five winos excellent adventure , mostly in Burgundy; 6/7/2019-6/15/2019 (Beaune, France): Absolutely gorgeous nose displaying perfectly ripe pure black fruit, blackberry, blackberry concentrate, intoxicating perfume, rose, Vosne spice, sap, black truffle and subtle limestone. Perfect balance and incredible detail, so finely layered pure black fruit, intense yet weightless, perfect amount of acidity and mineral, and a seamless long perfectly ripe black fruit driven finish with a hint of Vosne spice at the end. Already a hedonistic experience.
