Tasting at Louis Jadot (Beaune): Brooding, huge nose of non-delineated red and black cherry with meat. The palate has huge concentration with powerful fruit and firm structure. Grippy tannin. Whereas the Chapelle was showing a degree of approachability, the Beze is firm and requires a couple decades of cellaring. 96-97+

Burgundy, Day 1 (Beaune, France): A little less convincing than the Chapelle today, but this will probably become the better wine. It feels very structural with its tannin and less than exuberant fruit, but you can tell there's some really good material just waiting to emerge.

Tasting at Louis Jadot (Beaune): 90 year-old vines. A wow wine that is so seductive already. The palate is at once rich, layered and lively. Behind the G.C. concentration black fruit you have loads of meat and spice. Big, yet elegant and already showing so complete. Fantastic. 95+
