Best bottle of this yet, in a perfect place! Visiting good friends in Tennessee and took this along to dinner at Foothills Milling. Great restaurant and this went perfectly with braised beef cheeks entre I had and the steaks my friends enjoyed. Helped make a perfect meal even better! 94+

Can’t ask for much more. Earthy and meaty on the nose with a touch of menthol. Dark and red cherry on the palate with a fine balance. Lighter weight yes but in a nice very easy drinking way.

Not in the class of the 1995 served side-by-side but I wouldn't kick this wine out of bed. Still relatively young tasting with broad tannins but don't see much more upside for this wine.

M+M's Housewarming Party (M+M. Robin Road): Like revisiting an old Friend, this was a lovely drop that had all the familiar characteristics of a good Clos de Beze. It had a lovely warm bouquet of earth, herb and meaty aromas swirling around lifted notes of red fruit, spice and cola. The palate lacked some of the full strength and length of greater vintages, but it was still clearly a Grand Cru in weight, with a nicely transparent depth of pure red cherry and berry fruit along with the 2000 vintages' characteristic liveliness lent to it by fresh acidity and fine, focused tannins. It just felt a bit watered down past the midpalate and driving towards a still grippy finish. All in all, not perfect, but full of quiet charm and quality. A nice wine.

Second bottle in two weeks. This one did not show quite as well, but still good overall. Clean fresh dark red fruit with mineral note and spice, but the tannins were notable and little sharp for the intensity of the fruit. Moderate finish. Time to drink up. (91)

(Louis Jadot Chambertin-Clos de Bèze Domaine Louis Jadot) Dark cherry red color with pale meniscus; sexy, slutty, cherry, white and dark chocolate and plum nose; ravishing, yummy, cherry compote, rounded, ripe raspberry palate; medium-plus finish
