Casual Lunch with Frieds (Restaurant Bü's): Deep red and youthful color. Leathery nose with a bit of boisenberry and herbs. Not as overloaded as many Chilean Cabs. Pleasant finish of dark fruit and coffee. What a surprise and a nice argument against my bias againts Chilean cabs. At an early maturity stage. Put aside for a few more years. Drink 2015 - 2025.
From the wine list at Baco, in Providencia, Santiago. Very pleased to see this, as well as other aged Chileans, on this wine list (although 99 Sena was gone.) Deep ruby/purple color (not great light, though.) Dark fruit, cedar, something roasted, and something vegetal on the nose. Palate very balanced between dark fruit and tannins. Long finish. "Old money," said one of my dinner companions, comparing this to another wine. Still brash after a dozen years. Served a touch too warm. As this is my first Chadwick, I won't venture a guess on it lasting longer; very good now! Good companion to the duck, both magret sliced rare and angouilletes in poivre vert sauce.
Lovely balance of dark fruit (Reminds me of Palmer '96!) and tannins but not as expressive as the Don Melchor '99. beautiful colour. Not sure how long this will go for, but I'll hold my other bottle for a bit.

(Errazuriz Vinedo Chadwick (Maipo)) Roasted nuts and black fruit nose. Very fluid and integrated palate. Black fruits, lots of firm tannin, ripe with good structure. Needs five to six years in the cellar. Very good indeed.
