K&L 2019 Bordeaux Tasting (K&L Wines, San Francisco): Deep, thick ruby appearance with oak dominating the aromas. Full bodied and sappy. Round, ripe cassis and some soil. Excellent acidity, moderate tannins buried in the fruit, oaky finish. Modern. I would have guessed Napa.

Espresso, wet earth, chalk, smoke, licorice and dried flowers add complexity to the red fruits. Fresh, vibrant, polished and complex, the intense mineral influence shines through the layers of ripe berries like a surgeons scalpel. If you want to understand minerality in a wine, this is the one to teach you. The salt tinged finish comes with provides a minty accent and copious amounts of ripe, red fruits and berries. Drink from 2028-2050.

93 vvPunkte (85% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Franc, 14.5%. 2024-2038 vvWine.ch

2019 Bordeaux tasting (K&L Wine Merchant - San Francisco): N: Even more prettier on the nose compared to the Ferrand with wild red flowers and rain on a mountainside.
P: Soft and ripe cranberries, gentle minerals and softly bitter earth.
Without the damp oak (almost like a funk), this is just a bit more enjoyable than the Ferrand.

Bright red fruits, tarry, good minerals and well-judged oak. Quite expressive.
