  A flagship wine from Santadi and one of the finest Carignans in country, aged for 16 months in new FR oak and another 12 months in bottle. Deep garnet colour. Medium intensity rich aroma of blackberries, tar, bread, lavender, smoked plums, hints of garrigue, chocolate. Medium+ body, opulent and sweetish entry with round and smooth texture, ripe plum flavours with spice and chocolate notes, concludes with finely grained tannins and spiced hints.

  Popped and poured. Relatively faint but pleasant nose at first opening up after twenty minutes to reveal violets, garrique and vanilla. The palate is medium to full bodied with smooth tannins. This is very modern in style but it works pretty well and this was a good drinker out of the box with dinner.

  Fta) Ein sehr erfreulicher kleiner Tiefstapler: trotz tiefem Purpur und 15%alc kommt er recht mild-würzig daher. Eindrucksvoll und angenehm. Schöne klassische (dicht-herbe Bordeaux-Style-)“Cuvé“ (95% Carignano) ohne Schnörkel, aber mit feiner Frucht und samtigen Tanninen. Und einer dichten, aber milden Würze bis in den Abgang. Schon in seiner Jugend zugänglich. War interessant im Flight mit Dirupis Vino Sbagliato zu trinken, einem hocharomatischen Nebbiolo - irrer Gegensatz und nicht vergleichbar. Aber jeder für sich top! Und beide sind, jeder auf seine Weise, Gänsebraten-tauglich…

  Nase: fruchtig nach Beeren, würzig, Holzausbau dezent, volles Bouquet, die 15% Alk.gehalt - jop, die schmeckt man
  Gaumen: fruchtig, präsentes Tannin, welches etwas spröde daherkommt, saftig, nicht zu schwer, angenehm, langer etwas austrocknender Abgang, braucht Luft, Alkohol ist nicht so präsent wie in der Nase - zum Glück, ausgewogen
  Fazit: ausgesprochen guter Wein, gehört eher zur teuren Fraktion der Sardinien-Weine, von einem bekannten Produzenten. Ein Wein zum Geniessen.
