I was concerned this would be a bit tertiary and past its best, especially when following a few bottles of the fantastic Leoville Barton 2003, but this actually showed very well with pronounced flavours of oriental wood, ox-blood, spice, liqourice and some molasses. Very enjoyable and long lasting finish. The two bottles were in great shape but wouldnt hold for any longer.

Crimson colored Sangre...some salty iodine notes. Some tomato sauce. Old. End of its life. It's good, but one needs to like old wines. All tertiary. Fruit faint. Medium plus finish. My last bottle. Was NOT the greatest vintage.
Revisiting this wine almost a year later. Same notes persist. Only decanted three hours this time.
Ox-blood, full bodied Dark jammy berry fruit, some tar and flint. Not a powerful nose. Fruit has diminished. More earthen and vegetative tastes (some green bitterness). Medium finish which culminates in a tad of sour plums. Acidity is prominent.
Smoked a Ashton VSG
A good wine for sure, but it fell short of my expectations, especially for the QPR.
So, two bottles down and one to go. I am hoping my last bottle shows better when I crack it sometime in the next 12-16 months.

(Tua Rita REDIGAFFI) Magnum Dear Friends, You never know what you’re going to find walking down the street and in this case, it was something large, or, larger than normal. Paris is a city of wonder, but it was pouring rain here today as I walked and my mobile phone woke me from what the locals call a Parisian coma (a trance induced by day after day of winter grey, drizzle and cold weather - when I tell the Parisians that Garagiste is based in Seattle, they realize their complaints about the drizzling weather will go without sympathy). After ducking into a small nook in the far reaches of the 17th, inside a very old building that looked like a Napoleonic stockade, the voice on the other end of my phone presented this deal and it put a smile on the face of this otherwise grey day. This parcel of magnums is directly from the winery cellar with the finest provenance in the world at an even lower price than in Italy: VERY RARE - only 24 magnums for the entire US: 2005 Tua Rita Redigaffi 1.5lt EXTREMELY LIMITED at this price Pleas give us your maximum number and we will allocate accordingly Thank you, Jon Rimmerman Garagiste Seattle, WA Italy8811
