In great shape. Nose of lemon drops, pear and green apple. Great mint and herbs. Some vanilla maybe a little oak integrated. Some Bubble gum. Mature on the palate. Enters soft and then builds and builds - tons of lemon, nice sweetness and acid, great spices with some ginger and some herbs. Build and builds tons of lemon and sweet and ginger. Super spicy and lemon. Nose 5/6, Palate - 5-5.5/6, Finish - 5.5/6, Je ne Sais Quoi - 1.5/2 = 17-17.5/20.
Day 3: this is on fire right now - lemon, brown spices, savory herb, salty minerals, buttered popcorn, even better on palate and finish - tons of lemon and salty minerals, buttered popcorn. Great balance and grip. Long and wide salty finish. 17.5/20.

Inglorious Batards (Noreetuh restaurant, Manhattan, NY): The first of 6 from my dad's cellar. This was the best showing for this wine I've seen by far, and it was no slouch before. Classic nose of cool mint, lemon, a bit of sugar, green and bright and cut. Great on the palate and cool again - menthol, excellent cut and drive, herbal, complex. This kept getting better and better and was probably my WOTN. Nose - 6/6, Palate - 5.5/6, Finish - 5.5/6, Je ne Sais Quoi - 1.5/2 = 18.5/20.
My first grand cru from the Montrachet vineyards and it was better than anticipated. Rich, beautiful nose with hazelnut, acacia, ripe peach, poached pear, baked apple, and hints of limestone. The palate has excellent depth and richness, but does not feel flat. The balance and flavors are penetrating and stellar. The finish lasts a full minute. Seems to be in its prime to me right now.
