One of my last, and perhaps the best bottle of a full case of premoxed 2007 Pernot Batard. This was a dark golden yellow, turning copper in the glass but not yet outright oxidized with good acidity and the usual notes of a very old Chardonnay. Overall Pernot's 07 Batard was the worst white Burgundy in terms of Premox I have ever had (12 out of 12 bottles premox).

A private tasting at a friend's (Bussum): Very different from the Leflaive Bâtard 2001 which preceded it. Powerful and concentrated, big and bold, very constant over the whole evening, a textural wine, firm structure with delicately resinous oak, masculine but also quite monolithic, starts to open up after three hours, long and slightly nutty finish.

5th from an OC and best so far which means very llttle as all bottle have been premox'ed so far. Dark golden yellow turning amber but drinkable with still good remaining acidity. NR

(Paul Pernot Batard-Montrachet) Another lovely nose of mineral iodine and deep minerality. Really very layered nose. The palate is deep and minerally with lovely complexity already and a long slow-mounting finish.
