Langton's Bordeaux En Primeur 2022 tasting (Langham Hotel, Kent Street, Sydney): Pretty with grapefruit marmalade, sweet spice, cedar, vanilla. Juicy, very sweet - too much residual sugar for the acid for me, less obviously smoky than the last tasting of this wine though its still a little present on the palate. In my defence I was looking for it so perhaps that has influenced me.

Flowers, pineapples, mango, apricot and candied lemon notes get the wine going. The palate, with its layers of sweet, ripe and overripe, honeyed yellow, and orange fruits is fresh, long, intense, balanced, and most importantly, delicious! And isn't that the purpose of a wine? Drink from 2025-2055. 94-96 Pts.

En Primeur campaign for the 2022 vintage Day Six (Bordeaux): Because (after the experience with the Guiraud) I'm looking for it I see a little smoke taint here which lends the nose a little ashy note. Behind this there is some apricot, clementine and tangerine marmalade and sweet spice, cream. In the mouth it's a touch bitter, chalky textured, muted flavours, a little too sweet for the acid levels. Nah
