  Way below shoulder fill, cork in excellent condition; Nice faded ruby color, quite cloudy; at first sniff a bit musty and leathery which blew off after 10 minutes; on the palate sweet delicate attack, old strawberry, cherry and rhubarb notes, tangy, berries and dried leaves, bark and forest floor; super silky, almost all tannins resolved but still holding very nicely; lovely long finish with a tingly "glittery" aspect in the finish after 20 minutes. Haunting, lovely, very elegant. revisited about 2 hours later and took a dive and got musty. For some, WOTN. I felt this had about a 20 minute window of pure genious even if it was more subtle than the other great wines. Zachy's Burg Wine Dinner at AOC.

  Rousseau 1966 Chambertin was much like the 1964 tasted moments before, but showed strong traces of lush, dark fruit as well. It was more dense with incredible power, and just a bit sweeter and spicier than the 1964 in the next glass. I kept the last few sips in my glass for hours, and this wine was not close to fading.
