Friday Night Brown Bagger (R&R's): Blind. Showing some age with a bit of a brown in the color. Aromas of leather, plum, currants, dried violets and something just a bit vegetal in nature. Mixed red and black berry fruit on the palate, with riper plummy fruit carrying through the finish.
This is in a very nice place and has plenty of life yet. Double decanted off its sediment a little over three hours before the flight was poured. Very happy that we have two bottles left, but also saddened that we have *only* two bottles left. Now through 2027(+?).

Tobacco, forest notes, just a hint of vanilla, and graphite/pencil notes on the complex nose. Well balanced with good acidity and red fruit, chocolate, as well as forest floor on the palate. Long and lingering finish. Excellent wine, although I did like it better a few years ago out of magnum.

Out of magnum, Seepage through the cork, but Color barely looks older than a few years and the nose is absolutely gorgeous classic aged Cali mountain cab. This thing is a damn near perfect expression, with beautiful graphite and dark currant. If you find 80’s or early 90’s Forman, but it all.

Lean nose; complex; tart initially then coarse and tannic followed by raspberry and licorice with an elegant velvety sweet finish.

Opened at the new Koloman restaurant in NYC. Seemed like a poorly stored bottle with a bit of heat damage, was not good sadly... we sent it back.
