Almost exactly two years since my last bottle of this, which had been pretty solid. It might be bottle variation, but, based on last night's bottle, this is heading downhill even faster than I am. Oak and a hint of cassis on the nose. Earth, wet leaves, tea, tobacco, and cedar on the palate, but no fruit. Thin body, with more-than-ample tannins and acids - a Bordeaux lover's wet dream. Stick a fork in it.
Houston Berserkers Offline (Sophia): This is in a great place right now. Nose of sour cherry, black currants, mint, tobacco, cedar. On the palate cherry, currant, tobacco, cedar, spice, mint. Finishes with some tannic grip. Great drink.
