  • Last bottle. Bright crystal yellow-gold. So pretty in the glass. Tropical fruit with creme anglaise and then laser clean finish. So pretty and delicious. This was my best bottle of this vintage. I do think it is a drink soon wine though since I opened a mag of this at a party about 18 months ago which seemed more mature than this one. My experience is that bottles of this are almost always good+ and sometimes they are special like this one. I can't rate it higher than a CSH though. Those are usually special+.

  • My only bottle of this and it's showing a little long in the tooth, but here we are, so let's do it.

Medium to deep golden color with some opaque haze. Smells like pineapple, herbs, smoke, and crushed rocks. Medium (+) body, acid, and finish, with flavors of lemon, apple, pineapple, herbs, and minerals. Some nice complexity here, and interesting, but smoke 'em if you got 'em!

  • So gold that it looks like it belongs around Mr. T’s neck. Very rich qnd weighty, toasted coconuts, grilled pinapple, banana, camomile tea, custard all explode from the glass. Totally delicious and anyone who says they don’t like Riesling should try this and tell me what’s not to love. It is almost like drinking a Smorgasburg of liquified Gerber fruit baby food!!!

  • Drank out of a magnum in the midst of birthday wine debauchery blur. Remember it being a bit fat and tropical, but oh, still so joyful to drink down. Quintessential Alsace.

  • My best Emile of the 3 I had. Ripe mango and pineapple with a strong mineral backbone, great intensity in the midpalate, and clean mouthfeel and focus. As expected, food versatile, exotic, spicy, lovely experience this time and now I see the alure of the label. At one point at the end of the bottle I felt it like 94+ :)
