  • {Bought on release, sound cork, tasted in second red Corton flight} Very good wine but a little flatter/shorter than in prior tastings. Nonetheless authentic Corton, Pinot nose without any fireworks, very good length and depth; prior bottles have been a touch better for me.

  • Highly perfumed and pleasant on the nose. There are lots of tannins in this one, but they dissipate with air in the glass. Over time the tannins return. Vibrant, intense red fruit. This needs more time. I'll follow others' notes and likely open my next bottle in 5 years.

Served with venison medallions in blackberry reduction.

  • This pours light ruby in the glass with light bricking at the rim. Great color. The nose is lovely and expressive from first pour, very classic and identifiable Burgundy. Aromas are of dried rose petal, red cherry, dried ginger, mushroom, petrichor, and just a faint whiff old leather and decaying leaf. The palate is still fairly structured, entering on red cherry, tuning to firm medium tannin and medium acid. The finish is medium plus in length replaying dried ginger and red cherry, just a touch clipped by the structure. There is faint leather and autumn leaves on the finish reminding you that this wine has some age to it, but I don't think there is a rush to consume these either. With a few hours of air, quite easily 94 point nose to me. Palate falls little short, more like 92-93, but giving this the benefit of the doubt.

  • Jadotfest 22; 12/1/2022-12/2/2022 (The Medlar): Big on the palate. Big on the nose. *Just* a whiff of coke float, but also freshness and acidity. Someone at the table said it's like a race between the tannins and the fruit, and it will be interesting to see which one will win - my handwritten note said "Too much structure? No?".

This has some time ahead of it - more enjoyable to drink now than perhaps my note suggests, but I'd also be very keen to try this again in a few years.
