This is sublime and no where near its' peak. Lovely balance of fruit, wood, tannins and acid. delightful mouth feel, lush body, lingering length. plums, dark berries, cassis, blended oak, nice line of light acid and would have continued to evolve in the cellar but for my impatience. Enjoy now (like I did) or cellar carefully for another decade. 94+

14 years old and coming towards the end if it’s drinking window according to Halliday (2022) and The WineFront (2024). Plenty left in this wine however and I’d stretch the window out to 2027. Beautiful fruity nose. Dark deep plum colour. Tannins and fresh acidic finish. Earthy mushroom and dark berry flavours.

This was the last one in my cellar. The tannins were mellow with good fruit and full bodied. There was some sediment in the bottle, use a filter. I did not aerate it was tight at first but did open up after a few hours, I found the overall fruit to be concentrated in dark cherries, wildberries and some earthiness, I also found a mild smoke. Overall great cellar find, to bad it's my last one.

Excellent. The wine has great substance, and this was emphasised by its comparative showing alongside a Grange over lunch.. Colour: dense black berry, still quite bright. 14.5% alc. Bouquet: blackberry, dried twigs and herbs, vanilla oak Palate: beautifully blended flavours of blackberry fruit and oak, with liquorice, black coffee and leather, with very textured palate and long very dry finish. Its freshness ad continued fruit character set it apart from the 2007 Grange, which some over lunch preferred. May 2021

You can tell the prescence of the Cabernet in the blend as it provides fine grippy tannin, and the oak is still reasonably present, but as the oak subsides I hope it will mellow more and we will see more juicy fig, cigar box and a touch of leather, in contrast to the black fruit, blueberry, black pepper and chocolate that seems to still be in the game.
