A glorious aged Burgundy. Delicious aromas of earthy, spicy, leathery, herby black cherry. Loads of volume to the still plush fruit that has layers of flavor. Seamless structure. At peak and likely to hold for 5-10 years. Love when the NSG rusticity melts away and reveals suave, complex Burgundy like this.

Lots of forest floor notes on the nose when opened. Started off with barnyard on the palate, moved to clean cherry after 1 hour and then finished hour 2 with dark cherry and raspberry with maybe some candied notes. Held up very well for its age.

Smells faulty, of sweat and nail polish, with an off pinkish-orange tint. Resolved of its tannin and smooth to taste, but seems heavily marked by volatile acidity.

Burgundy Dinner with Friends (RPM Seafood - Chicago IL): Ripe and mature black fruit aromas and flavors with both sweet and savory spice notes. Enticing nose, good palate, very engaging overall.
