  Brownish ruby garnet. nose showing meaty fruits and a whiff of bandaid. Palate shows spicy secondary flavors with a mostly tannic finish. Not showing it's age well.

  Pale/medium garnet, wide pale garnet/tawny rim. Spicy, developed nose with cherry and bilberry fruit, smokey, gamey edge. Similar on palate, fully integrated tannin, only moderately intense but with reasonable mid-palate interest before a shortish savoury finish. Well balanced, enjoyable NW Pinot, but now slightly faded and past its best. Drink up.

  Medium garnet core, pale mahogany rim, tawny tints.
  Medium intense bouquet, spicy, ripe strawbery fruit. A slight gamey tinge has developed, perhaps at the expense of some intensity.
  There is however decent intensity on the palate, with ripe strawbery fruit and some coffee and cocoa notes. This also has typical NZ pinot soft tannins and shows some attractive savoury, gamey complexity on a decent length finish with sufficient balancing acidity. Also wears its alcohol (14.5%) well.
  Overall an enjoyable, mature pinot noir, quite burgundian style, subtle and tasty. I would say this has reached its peak, and is probably one to drink over the next year or so.

  Light/medium garnet core, medium mahogany rim. Quite good intensity on the nose with developing aromas of sweet red pinot fruit and spicy hints. On the palate evident, but ripe tannins and medium+/crisp acidity provide the structure for sweet, very ripe raspberry fruit with almost Burgundian spice and savoury notes on a good length finish. This is excellent pinot noir and will probably hold/improve over the next 2-3 years.
