Quite expressive, with a distinct nose of sous bois/forest and mushroom mixed the faintest orange rind note. Palate leans a bit tart and strict, deepening with air. Has a mostly red fruit profile. Still narrow and a bit thin on the finish--but good length. Probably still needs some time. After 1 couple hours air this was quite sensational. Strong spice notes really added character and complexity to the wine. Ended up being quite complete and thrilling.

Another pretty wine. Floral, red-berries/cherries and a little spice on the nose. I felt that this was perhaps less intense/weighty than the Fourrier Gevrey VV on the palate, but as a result of that, a little bit more beguiling because the Fourrier almost seemed bulkier. Silky and long. A nice Latricieres that won't put a big hole in the pocket...

Very feminine and seductive on the nose, if not the most expressive and profound. The strawberries are just ripe. The mushrooms are still fresh and the lavender just touches your nose. The oak is present with cloves and woody fragrance. The palate is very light and not as developed as the nose. It is very concentrated but not really open. The structure is light from the sandy parcels of Latricieres. The acidity is still piercing and it really needs time. I tasted it just after opening, but have left the wine decanted for tonights dinner. I am sure with 4-5 hours of breathing, the palate will open up some more, and present itself better. For potential I still like it right now.

Very mineral, which makes this wine taste like steely-like artificial liquid. Red cherry, raspberries, melon, orange peel flavours with hints of forest-like greenish earthiness. Good structure with moderate scale, with some refreshing acidity which brightens up the wines. Considerably lean for a Gevrey Grand cru but still has the masculine character, and has a acidic sour cherry finish.

2011 Casual Session - 21 @ Jade Palace (Jade Palace Seafood Restaurant, The Forum Shopping Mall, Orchard Road): Alcohol :: 13.5% The lonely red Burg but definitely a good one. Bright ruby red. Opened for 3.5hrs in the bottle and decanted for 2.5hrs. Very chalky on the nose, with seductive floral scents and pure sweet raspberry and black cherry, very elegance that all my friend thought this was impossible to be a Gevrey! With time there is a little bit brown sugar, earth and wood spices appeared and added better complexity and depth to it. Perhaps with the long aeration, the power, structured that stood out right out of the bottle, has mellow down and show great delineation and lots of sweet fruits. While expressive, there is this restraint that always exist in the wines of Rossignol Trapet, which highlighted the focus, which again, this is my type of wine. The detail finished is long and detail, with good verve. This maker produce very good wines across the range that wouldn't break the bank even for their Grand Cru red yet remained modestly price, great qpr here. 90-91+
