Just bought 3 bottles of the wine. Pristine bottle, obviously perfect storage. Good acid, with a medium finish. Notes of dark berry, vanilla and spice. Perfect dinner wine.

Decanted one hour before serving. Medium-deep ruby color. Deep blue fruits and a somewhat floral nose. Medium-light body, medium-to-medium-plus acid. A bit thin at first with a metallic note on the back. This improved with time in the glass offering some cherry fruit, menthol, and a subtle soy sauce note. Fine, but was expecting better given the vintage and producer. My wife thought this was excellent.

This was really quite nice; balanced, a pretty garnet and not -yet -but- almost tawny edge, rich datk red fruits on the nose and a mellifluous passage on the palate for a Clos Vougeot. Stylistically, a bit odd mixture of elegant wine making with a bit more animale than most masculine, more headstrong Clos Vougeot. Brambles, serious derk deep dark cherry, a hint of earrth and wood, and just enough classic Burgundian complexity and broad cherriness to make for a delightful meal. Drink now with no decant.

(Domaine Jean Grivot Clos Vougeot) Medium dark cherry red color with pale meniscus; oak, baked cherry nose; tight, oaky, tart cherry, red berry, black raspberry palate with sweet tannins, needs 4-6 years; medium-plus finish

There’s something about Clos the Vougeot that says The Heart of. Midlothian

Bourgogne 2002 horisontal Grand and 1. cru winetasting dinner (20 btls) (Nordsjaelland): Garnet color. Notes of cherry (pretty intense), mint, red currant. Developing in the glass. Medium+ tannins and high intensity also on the palate.
