Armand Rousseau Dinner: Pronounced nose intensity with notes of flora, violet, red cherry, mushroom, strawberry, graphite. Medium+ acidity and medium tannin. Long finish. Aeration in the bottle around 4 hours. Finesse on both palate and nose.
Typical Rousseau GC nose and extremely well integrated palate already. Obviously has some age in looking at the wine in the glass.
For what’s its worth, we also had a 2010… In my opinion, that wine is actually bigger and requires more time in the bottle. The 2009 is drinking extremely well, and, as I previously mentioned, a well integrated palate now. For me, that makes a difference.
Overall just super bottle of wine.

During a Paulee dinner, so only brief impressions. Great showing, generous mid palate, complex aromas, married the warm vintage with elegant wine making.

Drank side by side with ‘09 Rousseau CSJ. This may have seemed better stand alone but the CSJ was clear winner. This wine is full of that Gevrey spice and elegant. It was full of barnyard funk which some love. It seemed a little disconnected though … maybe patience will put this wine in better harmony
