There is something about this wine which screams Angerville, the light red fruit and the mineral footprint makes a stunning palate. Quite playful already from start, the fruit more on the lighter red side - with time the wine puts on more weight and somewhat darker elements of fruit. The alrady great balance improves. Great length. Great acidity, smooth tannins. Start of the mature window ish now, but in no way a shame starting to enjoy these now - from now on preferences are the main choice. I'll revisit every 18-24 months from now on.

Quite open already from start, but a few hours of air is an advantage. Tannins already well integrated, great balanced by the fruit which is a bit linear, elegance over complexity. Very typical Nebbiolo both on nose and palate. Good length.

Shows well now, nose and palate match eachother well, fruit on the darker side, cherries being the dominat. Quite elegant, good length, smooth tannins, nice complexity however this is more about lean elegance than big complexity. Love the balanace, great acidity.

(Half bottle note): Open from start, fruit a bit more "plummy" that I expeced it to be, but the complexity is very Bordeaux with a classic nose. OK length. Would have like to see a bit more red fruit, might be the bottle size and speed of development? That said, no rush drinking these. Tannins well integrated, good balance and body.

Quite playful from the start, but needs both a bit of time and the correct temperature to show well. From the start this is a bit like diving into rose hips as the dominating scent, a quite correct Barolo so to speak. Get the feeling this is a tad more mature than my previous bottle a year ago, however stands out as quite young. Great balance, good fruit, fine tannins. Saved some for day two, I think the wine lost some fruit and as a result the balance was not as good and the tannins stood more out. Good length.

Overall drinking quite well now, but based on the pace of development and the current state I'll probably not revisit for 2-3 years.

I like the spices and structure of this wine, while it from opening could remind of a young Rhone wine judgeing from the scentes, this is more elegant and it overall seems well balanced and all elements well integrated. That said, better on day two where it seems "less wild", more developed and with perfect balance .

OK length, great complexity, mostly a "spicy" palate which is mirrored on the nose (or the other way around). Good body

A tad pricy. What stands out is the elegance.

Playfull already from start, in comparison to Angerville P C 2010 I had to compare, fruit on the lighter red side, good complexity and such a great balance. Very clean, pure fruit, good length. Very Volnay on its expresison.

Needs a little time to shine, although Angerville comes out of the bottle already from the start. Fruit on the lighter red side, although a more cherry like fruit slowly develops without taking over. Good length, great balance - but time helped it. Pure clean fruit.

A bit puzzled if is a bit muted or just lacking some fruit, but given det development of the wine I lean towards air in advance or no rush drinking the remaing.

This wine received significant attention in Norway, especially on DN.no, and was considered quite the hype. However, it remains a great value for its price. The interplay between mineral undertones and fruit flavors is impressive, offering good fruit characteristics. As expected, it leans towards a more linear, rugged, and shorter profile, which could have benefited from a more substantial structure. It's not easy to find better wines for around €20 in Norway from this region.

Did it meet the hype? Well, it's a bit uncertain. It's certainly a good wine, perfect for a late summer evening and a casual white wine-friendly barbecue. Still, it may not be the kind of wine that stands out in the long run. Nevertheless, I would purchase it again and appreciate it for what it is – a fantastic bottle of wine within its category

This is drinking quite well now, yet I feel there is a bit more in there still. Quite elegant, seamless, good length, fruit on the lighter red side, grows and improves in the glass, beatiful combination of slightly maturing fruit with the lighter red mix, hints of a mineral footprint. Love the balance.

I enjoyed these wines over two days, and while there wasn't a significant change on the second day, I have a particular fondness for wines with a delicate fruitiness. To clarify, this is a positive attribute for me, especially when it's complemented by a strong structure and well-rounded tannins. It may not have an exceptionally long finish, but that's typical for this style. I didn't anticipate a complex flavor profile, and it didn't disappoint in that regard. Overall, it was a delightful and well-balanced experience that transported me back to memories of Piedmont and a charming street cafe.

I definitely plan to purchase more!

This drinks very well now, however give it some air at is does benefit considering puting on more weight and brings balance to the wine. Quite mature, but still some way to go. The oak plays well with the wine as such, good complexety, good length. Fruit on the darker side, somewhat more spine would be a plus but we are well into the details.

I remember a lighter red fruit and more of a mineral footprint than I'm able to extract now, perhaps covered by the more mature apperance of the wine now.

Kind of liked it, but it is a straigt forward very pleasant wine, quite well made for its kind. Enjoyable but notting for the big moments. For a summer barbeque this could work for a proper wine-food pairing.

Many years since my last visit, but those years have done this wine well although some of those findings still remain true. For me this is a very thypical Chave on the nose, very complex still with the typical markers I expect. This is mirrored on the palate, but the palate stands out as a bit more spicy, and the intensety increases on the palate when drinking. Tannins well integreated, wine seamless, full bodied.

Very nice! Good length! Wish I hade many, many more but still a few left.

Hype or not? Upon popping and pouring, it immediately bursts into a melodic tune, which is quite pleasant. It exudes charm, albeit a tad short, yet leaving behind a delightful burst of prominent fruit notes that playfully linger. While it doesn't boast profound intricacies, such depth isn't anticipated, making it a worthwhile purchase in today's market. I recommend enjoying it a touch more chilled than I'm accustomed to; this imparts a more robust structure to the wine. All in all, a delightful wine for the summer season.

Mirrors to a great extent my previous note on the bottle, however not as shy and a bit more maturing tones this time, still there is no shame saving them for a few more years. Nicely paired with shellfish whcih was great.

Good to go now, more to expect down the line would be my sum up of this wine.

A bit too early? Left with champain stopper over night, and nights actually, which really improved it. The fresh cut apple scents, lemon, white fruit is clearer with air and time. OK length, for now. Revist a few more years down the road.

Quite open from the start, nice white fruit, not too complex which is about what is expected. Good balance, for its kind OK length, the balance makes the wine not "too intense" so to speak. In the great landscape of similar wines this scores well in my book.

I'm not the biggest fan of cellaring these, nor the biggest fan when they are fresh out of the box. The current state is kind of in between, but closer to where I like these. The "wild youth fruit" has settled in, the nose and the spices are very Graillot, great balance, good length for its peers, the spices are well integrated. It does need a few hours of air, in a wide decanter as possible, and a tad to the colder side is only for the benefit of the wine. Overall great performance of this wine in this vintage, I admit I skipped the 2020, but even this one I prefer drinking within the next 2-4 years but many disagree. These kind of wines I prefer the freshness of their youth, yet it is a personal preference.

This is really pleasant to drink now, still some light red fruit although the darker more "sour" fruit is startig to show. Great complexity, tannins well integrated, great balance, good length. From here on, in my book, this is all about what level of maturity at the expence of fruit you like. I'll be enjoing my last bottle every other year or so well into the 2030s.

Still mirrors my previous note on this one, give this air in advance is my clear recommandation. Starts out muted, perhaps a tad dominated by oak but this blows off quickly with air and the wine goes into balance. Elegant, not too complex, ok length. Fruit a bit more developed than a year ago.

Positively surprised, although this is not a Burgundy as such. Needs lots of air to get it all together, by then it is also quite nice, easy drink with OK length. Some typical pinot spices and a more German approach to pinot as such, but among the better ones out there taking cost into the picture.

This was a great bottle and way better than my previous one. Fruit still a bit youthful, very classic Barolo, however not the mot powerful one. Great balance, tannins well integrated, could have been more complex. Quite elegant. Would have been interested so cellar them more, but are there some bottle variation on this wine?

Perfect bottle!

Last of 3 bottles all cellared in the same cellar. Again I'm stunned by this wine, still playful and quite young in its appearance, mutes itself in periods - but even from the start ready to play. The complex fruit is there, the lighter red fruit still lingering, finesse and long length - really long. The mineral footprint is stunning, I could have gone wrong blind here by far. But the balance, the length, the complexity all wrapped in elegance is beautiful.

Mirror my previous note on this wine. It takes some time to get into balance and the fruit to pop out, but when it does it really shines. Great bottle, been in same cellar since it was bought when released. Not sure what more is to gain from this wine, but wouldn't worry too much about being in a rush. Judging from other notes there might be bottle variations, but good bottles are great still.

This was a positive surprise, and that is being stated in the light of already being positive to the wine before. But this is one of my better Barolo wine in some time. The balance is impeccable, great fruit, love the acidity and although the tannins are still there they start off quite soft before increasing their intensity. Good length on the finish. The palate is kind of maturing, but not really there yet which is a mix I love to find in a Barolo. It might get older, just about preferences, however the fruit is just to present, clean and with great depth - and that is really the core of this wine.

Would be very interesting to see this one age for a decade or two more, questions is just how to forget remaining bottles?

This was a positive surprise! Not that I devalue Wittmann wines in any way, but on this level this delivers great value for money. It does need hours of air, but then the pure white fruit pulls through, great spine in the wine, good balance with solid length for its kind. Pure fruit combined by great acidity. Great!

For 2024 and onwards - but no long distance runner.

Nose as expected, delicate light red fruits lingering - and not yet turned into the more darker and secondary scents. The palate is for me a bit muter, elegant with OK length. Elegance is key here, and as the nose this is just on the verge to develop something darker and more complex. For a lighter dish this would be great now.

Mirrors much of my previous note on this wine, singing beautifully now. The nice red fruit is lingering above the more mature fruit, overall the there is a great width in the fruit which is mirrored on the palate. Balance and elegance, good length. Details, but the nose is perhaps a tad better than the palate, easy to get stuck smelling this one.

Still some future ahead but drinking well now.

Drinking increasingly well? From my point of view it does. Fruit leaning to the cherry side, yet there is some light red fruit lingering with a nice mineral footprint which is more present than I can remember from previous bottles, and still reminds me of Angerville. Good length, although a not as seamless as I would like it.

Benny Lerou still impress.

This one needs air to shine, although PoP works too but it is a different wine with proper air in advance. The lighter red fruits jointly with the cherry shows through with the more typical Sangiovese tones playing along too. Good length on the finish. Tempting to say it was on the elegant side.

I would prefer to leave for a few more years in the cellar; 2025 and onwards perhaps.

Struggle a bit where to put this one. Not that familiar with rather old German Pinot Noir, however would not have guessed the correct age on this one. Stands out quite young still, the red fruit on the lighter side, some spices, some oak still but not as distinct as I often find in German Pinots, OK length. It lacks some finesse, hasn't really come together, complexity is getting there.

I nice visit to something I do not drink too often, however German red wines are improving, but cellaring them too long is yet to be found very profitable when it comes to enjoyment. But I applaud the phase of improvement German Pinot Noir experience currently.
