This is an absolute rockstar! Gorgeous burnt tawny color. Gorgeous legs. Caramel, roasted walnuts, a bit of apricot and oak. Lingers on the palate for several minutes. Best served slightly chilled. Match with a full bodied after dinner Cuban cigar, or on its own. Can't imagine it gets any better than this.

Crisp, fruity, slightly sweet. Perfect wine for spicy Asian, Indian, or Mexican food. This is a terrific wine for the price.

So sad....my last bottle. As good as the first. Paired with prime rib. Gorgeous ruby color. Fruity, beautifully subdued tannins. Smooooooth. Wish I had more. 02-04 drinking great now also.

Not as sweet as many other Sauternes. I prefer them sweeter. Typical peach, apricot, and some citrus - probably grapefruit giving the slight twang.

Decent for the price. Not nearly as good as Taylor or Graham's 10yr tawny, or Warres Otima, but half the price. At this price point recommend Penfolds Club tawny. Considerably better at around same price.

Paired with medium rare lamb chops. Phenomenal fruity nose...could sniff it all day, but have to drink it. Still plenty of fruit. Nicely subdued tannins. Have had several of this vintage. Always a pleasure.

Dark purple/plumb. Tannins still evident but not overpowering. Not quite as good as some other vintages of this brand, but still very enjoyable. 08' is legendary....#1 WS, but as a result overpriced. Try the 07' and 09'. Nearly as good at less than half the price.

Wow! Plum color. Minimal if any tawny shading. Tons of fruit. Medium sweet. Essentially zero heat. Drinking absolutely perfect now, but plenty of years left. A terrific VP from an underrated vintage. Wish I had more.

Ruby color, plenty of fruit on the nose and still on the palate. Tannins smoothed beautifully. Drinking beautifully now. One of my favorite cabs. Wish I had more. Too bad no longer getting grapes from here.

Tawny color. Initially hot…alcohol very evident. Opened up beautifully within a couple hours in decanter. By next day was simply fabulous. Awesome example of a 50yr vintage port.

Side by side visual comparo with the 07 version. Considerably darker as expected. Medium sweet for a "Sauterne-like" wine. Caramel, hint of almonds. Quite nice. Has aged very well.

Outstanding, blow your doors off Cali cab. Was worried this would be a bit young, but 30 min in decanter and she was ready to rock. Exploding fruit. Just enough tannins. Perfect with Lamb/Steak. Was the highlight of our dinner at French Laundry. Must find more.

Paired with tenderloin medallions covered with fried egg and truffle salt. Very dark ruby - even more so than the other bottles I have had. Tannins still evident but not overpowering. Cherry and currant - typical hallmarks of Caymus. This bottle drank younger than it is. Excellent.

Dark with just a hint of Tawny.
Blueberry, Red Currant, and Cherry. The body is Medium/Full. The wine finishes Long. Surprisingly fruity and young tasting for it's age. This vintage has been hit/miss for me, but this bottle was simply outstanding.

Was nervous this would be past it's prime. Fear not. A bit darker cherry colored than some other bottles of 00 Caymus I've had. Lots of hallmark Caymus fruit with just the right amount of tannin. We drank this bottle way too fast. Paired beautifully with grilled pork chop, roasted potatoes, and sautéed spiich. Terrific bottle of wine.

A bit closed at first but opened up nicely with about 15 min in the decanter. Other wines consumed that night included 98 Dunn Napa, and 98 Dunn Howell Mtn. Prob the best of the 3. Drink up now.

Fruitier and more approachable than the Howell Mountain. Less decanter time needed. Drinking well now. Wouldn't wait more than another 5 years or so.

Paired with marinated butcher steak. Monster out of the bottle. Needed about 2 hrs in the decanter to mellow sufficiently. Nice wine once ready, but I prefer the Napa Cab. It's a bit fruitier and more approachable. Should be drinkable for another 10 years or so.

Had a bottle in Feb - was outstanding. This bottle clearly showing its age. A bit harsh on the opening. Did improve after an hour in the decanter. Has lost some of its fruit, but still better than most. Lots of bottle-bottle inconsistency at this age I think.
