Having pulled a 67 which was flawed figured I would open the 77. It was still alive although I would drink up if you have them.

Really enjoyed this, flinty and saline akin to Kumeu River chardonnay. Lemon on the nose and palate with mouth watering tart green apple on the lingering finish.

Tough going without food. A little too bold and extracted for my taste, needs a good steak or ribs to soften it.

Sadly left this a little too long, fruit has disappeared and just caught it before it's toast. After a half glass it was determined that it would be better in the croc pot. Not rated.

Concerned when I took the foil off as the top of the cork was stained, then split when I tried to remove it. Looks to be some seepage but the wine wasn't overly compromised. Still deep ruby, medium + aromas, black fruit (blackberry, blackcurrant) on the nose with forest floor. Good mouthfeel with pronounced black fruit, black pepper notes, gamey, savoury, medium tannins, medium + body, long finish. Very good, drink up..I have one bottle left and that will be in the decanter before the week is out!

Off dry, good acid with a swathe of sweet tropical fruit in the mid palate. Thought it was drier when tasted at the winery. Did go well with spicy pasta.

Think this bottle had been poorly stored before I got it as a gift. Cork disintegrated, garnet and musty overtones with forest floor dominant. Some fruit buried but this can't be representative of the vintage based on other notes. No score.

Still some time left for properly stored bottles. Fully integrated, medium+ tannins, long finish, nice rounded black fruits on the palate more on the dried and preserved spectrum with herbaceous notes. Sad this is my last bottle but glad I held this last bottle back. Excellent.

Definite signs of oxidation on the nose, fruit has all but disappeared, colour is medium gold. Not completely gone on the palate but not much to recomend it.

Aged very well and I wish I had another to check in on in a couple of years. Tannins are fully integrated leaving a smooth and silky wine with gobs of red and black fruit. Not for the faint of heart.

Lovely mature Bordeaux drinking really well. Drank it with braised short ribs. On the nose more tertiary notes of leather and forest floor with medium+ tannins which are well integrated. The palate offers more mature black fruits, leather and a medium+ finish. Two more to enjoy!

Picked this up on a winery visit in 2015 and held it a little too long. Fruit is now faded and nothing really coming through to replace it, a little disappointing sadly.

Just caught this in time, cork showed staining right to the top but beautiful black fruits when opened. After 45 minutes fruit blew off and this settled down with more acid and earthy flavor. Solid but probably at the end of its window.
