Still drinking well, dark fruit, tobacco, earth, chocolate emerge over time, substantial texture at mid palate, medium length finish only drawback .

Seems somewhat faded from its former glory. Nose of dark fruit, earth and chocolate, light to medium bodied, mild tannins with fruit and taste receding from previous tastings
Red
No decant drank over 2 hours, not fully opened. But blackberry, mushroom, cassis flavors, mild-moderate tannins. Needs some more time maybe 3-5 years

Deep plum color; nose of blackberry, black fruits; palate is full bodied, juicy black fruits, nicely integrated tannic structure, full dark fruit, earth, leather, characteristic Bordeaux flavor and long finish. Drinking very well.

Dark color with aromas of blackberry, plum and blue fruit. Medium- to full-bodied, with flavors of blackberry, cherry, vanilla (not too prominent), and plum, some fairly pleasant tannin a little heat from alcohol but less than might be expected for the labeled 14.9% moderately long finish. Nice but flavors not fully integrated leading me to question (?) whether this will improve notably with age

Decanted for one hour. This bottle gave a better showing than expected. Aromas of black currant, plum, cedar and licorice. Color of opaque dark ruby to purple. The medium bodied palate showed dark fruit, medium length finish, tannins present but fairly integrated. Might benefit from a year or 2 more of bottle age (?), but very drinkable now.

Dark plum color, a little lightening at rim. Raisins, earth dark fruit on the nose, but no strong aroma. Medium body, raisin dark fruit, moderate tannins reasonably integrated finish, some complexity. Medium finish. Nice surprise for 2003, no alcohol or overly sweet flavors that might be reasonably expected. may improve further, but not likely to be especially long lived.

Decanted 1 hour. More closed than previous tasting. Dark and red fruit, spice, licorice. Well balanced and structured medium finish. Maybe wait a while to see if time opens revealing more complexity.

Decanted but served within 30 minutes. Softer with less edge than previous tastings. Less depth and complexity than 2007 Santa Duc Gigondas drank with same flank steak diner

excellent nose with floral and fruit....mild dark fruits, graphite, mild integrated tannins...excellent mouthfeel and good finish, maybe a little faded but improved in fullness on the 2ed day (corked and returned to cellar). Nice wine maybe a little past peak?

Much better than 6 bottles consumed from 1 to 4 years ago. Chocolate, wet earth, burnt orange flavors, reasonable tanins and acidity and moderate finish. While one dimensional pleasant drinking (for 2 bottles over last 2 days) for price and several other dtrinkers were quite enthusiastic. Surprise since I had written off this wine after disappointing bottles several years ago.

Black with nose of black currant, and damp earth and additional burnt orange, dark chocolate flavors integrated tannins. Full bodied on the palate, with good presence, reasonable length and some complexity. More integrated, but still some unintegrated acidity--nonetheless drinking nicely, may improve a bit with a little more time.

Medium body, soft tannins, dried fruit medium finish, reasonable drinking but nothing stands out to grab your interest; less interesting at this point than the Domain's Vacqueyras which offers much more, at not that much greater cost.

Best after a few hours, burnt orange, chocolate grilled meat, pepper, earth, tannins nicely integrated red fruit a bit too sweet for me initially, but secondary flavors emerged. Better than one has a right to expect at this point.

Opened in about 45 min in glass, notable floral aromas, medium bodied, nicely integrated but present tannins. Cedar, earth, chocolate, nice mid palate and moderately long finish. Better than I expected as I feared it was getting beyond its time-not so

2009 Château Picque Caillou Pessac-Léognan Red Bordeaux Blend (view label images)

Quite soft and light-medium body, could do with more body & structure, modest reasonably integrated tannins at this point but dark chocolate, currant, mocha, red fruit( e.g., cherry) flavors are nice with modest, but enjoyable finish. A little alcohol nose but that seems to fade with air time and may drop out with another year in in the bottle. Nice wine for the price point, but lacks complexity of more serious 2009s

A little too fruit forward for my taste, but rich with adequate tannins and acidity. Lacks full structure at this point, and may improve a bit with a year or so

Mild oak, lemon, citrus on the palate. Very good acid, which kept a crisp clear mouth feel. May improve, nice for the price.

Too early even after 3 hour decant. Dense, rich red fruit, wet earth, dark chocolate, but does not fully open, with tannins not fully integrated. 5 years may enrich this wine enormously or may not--look forward to the hope that it will deliver on its promise.

Dense dark fruit, tobacco, wet earth, but early as tannins and adequate acidity not fully integrated even after 3 hour decant and 2 hour dinner. See if folds together better in 3 - 5 years
