Drank over 3 days. Color was very dark. On the nose a dark black tea and maybe some orange peel. Spicy but not overtly oaked. Nice fruit on the second night, but on the first night it was the tannin and structure that led. Should pick up more of this for the medium term.

Maybe I'm just in a different place style wise, but for all the hype on 2007 this under delivers big time. Oak Oak Oak. But the fruit just isn't there to back it up. It tasted really woody, but was without the signature vanilla I think makes the oak palatable. From a stalwart producer with a defined style, this is a poor effort.

UGC Chicago Bordeaux 2008 Vintage: the only '06 of the bunch the '08 was burned in a fire. Sour component to this. Tannins still seem to need time.

UGC Chicago Bordeaux 2008 Vintage: burned barrel almost scotch nose to it. There better be lots of fruit in there or uh oh. Acid for days but fruit is hidden. I don't know this seems powerfully disjointed.

UGC Chicago Bordeaux 2008 Vintage: much mre earth/terroir here. I would have put this very similar in feel to rutherford dust. Its like paper pulp in my mouth. Not a bad thing, just unique to today. Very drying. I like it.

UGC Chicago Bordeaux 2008 Vintage: acid in spades, not gonna bother with the nose, itsa clone of margaux (tea and cherries). Good but not balanced in the tannin and acid. Acid is punchy in a nice crisp way.
