Had to try one of my 3 bottles.. I prefer to drink priorats young .. This was open for business as soon as I pulled the cork. Beautiful nose if fresh red berries, minerals, spice. Palate : cherries and strawberries along with minerals. The fruit is so fresh and the wine is well balanced at this young stage. The finish goes on for minutes. Very impressive. The tannins do show it's face with more air time but its very enjoyable now. Uncork one today and enjoy your remaining bottles over the next 15 -20 years

Nose: dark chocolate , blackberries, fig, Asian spice and minerals.. Palate: dark berries , chocolate, spice, leather, smoke and herbs.. Nice concentration but not jammy at all. Everything is in balance. Drinking great now. The only thing that kept this under the 95 pt range was the finish which came up a bit short. Still a great Bordeaux .. Enjoy

Outstanding Malbec ... The aromatics are intense with red candied fruit, floral notes and minerals.. The palate showed much of the same with greet concentration and balance. A long long finish as well .. This wine is tough to find but if you can find it buy it.. This also has the structure to age another 10 years or so. Bravo

A great bottle.. Lovely red fruit and minerals on the nose and palate. Would have liked a bit more complexity. Good acidity which gave this wine nice freshness. Very long on the finish. Still got many many years ahead of it. Just starting to hit its stride. Cheers

Drinking fantastic now. The tannins are mellow and the fruit is shining through.. Great length on the finish. The secondary notes of leather , tobacco and a little funk along with the dark fruit made this a delight to taste.. No rush to uncork but it's in a good place right now. Cheers

Drinking very well now..Still quite young looking. The nose was great and got better with time. Red fruit, minerals, wet earth dominated the nose along with floral notes. Palate: Fresh red fruit, cassis, charcoal and black tea. Delicious. Still has the structure to age for another 10 years plus.. Cheers!!

What a beautiful Barton....dark red in color (teeth staining).. This was my first bottle of 6. Nose: Intense with floral, ripe dark berries, tobacco and earth tones. Palate: Dark ripe fruit, leather, tobacco, crème de cassis and minerals. The acidity keeps everything in balance here and gives the fruit freshness. The tannins are integrated nicely at this stage. This still has the structure to age for a long time. I urge people to find and taste this wine. Cheers!!

My favorite Zin.. Spicy, meaty, nice ripe fruit. This zin handles its 16.7 alc level very well. Well balanced with a long finish. Very intense wine. Love it.. 1st bottle of my 6 pack. Will be tough to hold off uncorking more early. Cheers!!

Palate was much the same with cherries ,blueberries, coffee and earth. Very elegant with decent structure which should let this age nicely for 10 plus years. This is a winner. Cheers!!

Very young but still a great experience. Classic barolo notes on the nose with Tar, scortched earth, sour cherries , floral and spice . Palate: great mouthfeel with red fruit, earth , tar, spice and leather. This bottle got a long life ahead of it but with a 4-5 hour decant it can be enjoyed now. It showed much better on day 2. Cheers!!!

Decanted 4 hours and it still was very tight. This is not opened for business right now. Seemed to be in a dumb phase. On the nose I got some red berries, smoke and coffee beans. Palate: Medium bodied.. red and dark berries, leather, coffee, and pencil shavings. It took the entire 4 hours to get the majority of these notes. Overall I was a bit disappointed but I believe this needs another 3 years or so before uncorking. It has the structure to last 15 plus more years .. Enjoy

Well I purchased 4 so I wanted to check in since a lot of the 09's are showing nicely early on. The nose explodes out of the glass with dark and red fruit, chocolate, earth tones and smoke. Palate: Chocolate covered cherries, blackberries, Plum, licorice along with floral notes and a touch of heat which will intergrate over time. Very powerful but elegant with its fine grained tannins hidden in the background. Very silky in the mouth with a very long finish. I will wait at least 4-5 years to uncork another. I see a potential 100 pt wine down the road. Cheers!!!!

Nose: tart cherries, minerals, mushrooms, truffles along with smoke which really stands out. Right when I uncorked the bottle the aromatics were filling the room. Palate : much like the nose red fruit , crushed rock, smoke along with some bacon fat and earth. For such a young burg this is drinking very well. Enjoy one now and save another for the future.. Cheers!!!

Decanted for 2 hours...Classic Margaux notes of pencil lead, dark fruit, leatherand earth on the nose. On the palate this was very elegant with fine tannins and the usual mineral notes, graphite, dark and red fruit. Overall it is a pretty wine but not worth the coin imo. Drinking well now not sure how much this will improve..Why wait?

I rarely open a young Barton but from reading some TN's i decided to check in...The color is an amazing bright purple which really looked inviting..Nose: For such a young Barton this opened up quite nicely with incense, black and blue fruit, leather, and minerals...The nose should develop very nicely over time ...Palate: A nice concentration of black and blue fruit which is impressive for an 08. Hints of tobacco, leather and minerals but its the bright fruit that is shining at this stage. The tannins are firm and powerful but in no way blocking the fruit ..This is the best drinking young Barton I have ever tasted. Everything is in balanced at this stage but time will bring out all those secondary notes..I totally recommend people buying this and enjoying them early and a decade from now.Plus the 08's present a great value..Cheers

Another solid but overpriced Cali cab..cherries and spice dominate the nose and palate.. Lacks complexity and was quite boring.. However it was balanced with no sign of heat on the finish despite the 15.2 Alc ..For 75 bucks u can find a much more complex Bordeaux or CDP that will not leave u bored drinking it.

Solid Pauillac but nothing special.. Nose: Red berries, cigar box, spice and herbs. Overall the nose was very nice but then came the disappointment..Palate: Red fruit, cassis, tobacco along with earth tones. The wine was quite thin and lacked some depth on the palate. The finish was medium length while the tannins were tame..It's a solid 88...Cheers!!!
