Pure red fruit - very much a CA Chambolle. Harmonious and ready to drink but a long life ahead.

Much more ready than the last bottle. Medium bodied and extremely long and complete. Very much like 1989 at the same point in its evolution. Nice.

Fully mature and ready to go. Medium bodied, linear, and harmonious. Smoky leaves on the nose, red and black fruit on the palate. Nice finish with some tannins still to fully resolve. Not complex or long enough to be stellar but still very pleasant.

Fully mature and ready to go. Ripe plummy fruit, medium bodied with a pleasant finish. This will never be great, but it’s a complete and typical 2002.

Really tasty but not worth the tariff and won’t age. Low acid with very ripe yellow fruit. Not quite peach. Floral but not explosive like a great Condrieu. Blind I would call it Guigal.

Bright with no bricking at the rim. Muted nose of cranberry and soil. Savory on the palate with perfectly ripe fruit. Very good wine that will get better but not worth the extra tariff.

Fully mature and very much alive. Tannins have resolved over the years but still structured and long.

Exactly correct. A point. Light red color but no bricking. Umami sub bois nose. Loads of red fruit, lighter than plum but darker than cherry. Light bodied. Mature and lively. Intense mid palate and long finish. Will drink well for a while. Morish.

Perfect wine with a roast chicken. Still has loads of fruit while fully mature. Savory. Not particularly complex but very tasty.

Tasted like a mix of California pinot and Chambolle. Not in a bad way, but in a ripe/fruit characteristic way. Far more acid and lighter in feel than a CA pinot would be. Enjoyable but not at all complex. Drink or hold.

Much better than my last bottle. Still young with ruby red robe and substantial tannins. Very nice red fruit with sub bois and building complexity on the finish. Definitely a food wine and should continue to evolve and improve.

Much more 2005 than Chambolle. Big ripe fruit, no flaws, but graceless. Perfectly fine but not interesting.

Super closed. Lots of fruit in there but it needs more time to unfold. I’d wait until 2030 at the earliest.

Loads of dark red fruit, classic but uninspiring. Will hold but likely won't evolve.

In a great place. Fully mature with fully resolved tannins and good acidity. Nose is quiet but the palate is strong with red fruit, a linear finish, and sub bois notes.

Finally ready to drink! Pure classic Pauillac. Tastes exactly how it should, like a Pichon Baron with a ton of structure that has finally evolved enough to be enjoyable.

Wacky wine. Loads of acidity, light bodied, bright red, surprisingly ripe red fruit. I've never had a wine so ripe and so bright at the same time. Definitely a wine for rich food where a white won't cut it but the food demands a very high acid low tannin red.

Completely different than my last bottle, albeit decanted this time around. Just beginning it’s plateau of maturity with lucious but not over ripe red fruit, enough acid and loads of tannins. Reminds me a lot of 2007 Beaucastel. Medium bodied, long finish. Not super complex but complete.

Super tasty and smooth, rich but balanced, toasty and full. Perfect starter Champagne, not for serious dining. Great now and should hold for a while but I'd drink sooner rather than later to catch the fruit with little risk of the fruit outliving the spine.

Fully mature. Fruit is a little too dark and roasted for me, but nicely savory and a good spine of acid to keep it in balance. Medium body and length.

Very tasty and great balance but not a lot of structure. Perfect as a casual sipper but not nearly as serious or as complex as Rhys Alpine normally is. I'm guessing making a Hillside in 2013 took some of the sap out.

This will be a great wine but still somewhat closed and not fully evolved. Complete, well-balanced and long, but immature. I'd give it until at least 2030 to unfurl and I'll bet it will drink well in 2050.

Over the hill, which is really too bad as there was nice fruit and length behind the age. Fill and cork were great.

Horribly crumbly cork - unacceptable, especially for a luxury cuvée. Very unlike others notes, brick red with an old tasting palate. Still lots of tannins but plummy where it should be vibrant. Disappointing.

Huge and long. Pure red fruit, very Nuits and a hint of Mugnier. Tons of acid and tannins, good now with something fatty but will be better in 2030+. I’m holding the rest of mine.

Hitting on all cylinders. As other taster have noted, this wine smokes. As in, it has a strong smoky note that works really well. Lively red fruit and strong tannins that are maturing, grippy but not drying. Long finish. This has the structure to keep aging but I’d drink sooner rather than later to capture the fruit.

Not particularly complex, a bit chunky and rustic for such a great site. Still has lots of life and the end of the bottle had much more life than the beginning. The North Berkeley cuvee is unfiltered and this bottle had as much sediment as I have ever seen in a bottle of Pinot Noir.
